London's V&A  Museum Presents Donatello Sculpting the Renaissance








































The V&A Museum has created a fascinating exhibition showcasing many outstanding works never seen in the United Kingdom before.

 The display looks at the Renaissance master's influence on the artistic and cultural development of a vital period in art history.

Donato di Niccolo di Betto Bardi, known as Donatello, was born in Florence, Italy,  in about 1386. He is believed by many to be one of the most important artists of the Renaissance. 

In a career spanning some sixty years, he used many different materials and techniques to creative exciting and innovative sculptures for display in both public and private settings.

 Many of the artists influenced by Donatello are also featured in this exhibition and we can see the similarities and differences in their works.
